Good Video, I don’t want to be critical but at 2:29 you said that “a dirty air filter makes your blower work harder”. A dirty air filter takes? out more particulate compared to a clean air filter, A dirty filter restricts air flow to your furnace which restricts supply air flow. This restriction of air flow caused by the dirty air filter actually makes the blower motor work less because it is moving less air. If you put a clamp on amp meter on the motor you will see that the amp draw goes down.
Yeah, I see what you’re saying. The amount of air that gets blown through a dirty air filter is definitely less than a clean air filter, so in the house it would feel as though? there is less air movement (and therefore less warm or cool air). I’ve never tried putting a meter on the fan motor… that’s interesting. I have been in homes where the homeowner put extra duct fans in to increase airflow, but the real cause of the problem was a filthy air filter (among other things). Thanks!
