i’ve heard both good and bad things about air purifiers, and i’m wondering if anyone has tried it and found them useful.

This is an ambient air cleaner installation we performed for our customer in a large precious metals melting department. The prefilters are supposed to be white and after only 2 weeks of operation you can see what was collected. This material can then be burned and reclaimed straight off the prefilters for additional profits.

I work at a manufacturing company and I am having too many problems with sinus infections, headaches, and breathing problems. I need something that is cost-effective and that really will work since I will probably have to purchase it myself.

It is not possible to buy a replacement, as it’s old, but still a powerful air purifier.

Just to clarify a prior question, I had; I’ve heard that ionized air can be potentially harmful (i.e. free radicals) so I want to avoid air cleaners that ionize air. The 3M Filtrete electrostatic polyolefin-based filters (very common in furnace filters, and now as part of a standalone air purifier) are pre-charged with a static charge to attract dirt, dust, and particles of inflowing air.

My question is, as non-ionized (regular) air travels through the filter (via a simple fan, there is no ionizer involved) is there any way that it could pick up any of the charge on the electrostatic filter, or that the air can become somewhat ionized in any way or form after it leaves the filter? Now, AFAIK, air doesn’t conduct charges well, so my guess would be no, but I’d like to have an expert opinion.

The carbon wraparound filter is very dusty and has cat hair on it. If I just rinse it with warm water, will it still be effective? Or does it do something to the carbon?

I get sick a lot but i’m bed bound so i never go out, Whats the best device to get to keep my air clean so i don’t catch things as easily

We have no pets inside our home. But my husband gets really bad allergies (I’m a pretty clean person but helps alittle).
