I am looking for a good bedroom air purifier. I have allergies and asthma and would like a purifier for my room at night. But all the ones I look up claim they are silent. I don’t want silent. I like a little white noise in my room. I currently have a Holmes fan/heater that I run on fan all night and that is about the right amount of noise. Anyone have any suggestions?
Brand names would be nice!
I understand the process of common houshold air filters using an ionizer to emit ions into a room to bond with particles in the air causing them to fall and no longer be in the air. But what mechanism (mechanial, elctromagnetic, etc.) is used to propell the ions into the room. Are different sizes of the device used for different sized rooms? Any other info would be interesting.

Thanks for the response. I’m not looking to remove any odors. I just use an room air filter that has an ionizer that doesn’t require the fan to be in operation for it to work. It made me wonder how does an ionizer emit ions then.
My grandmother gave me her old Holmes air purifier but even with a new HEPA filter it blows out air that smells like cigarette smoke. How do I properly clean it so that it smells like it’s supposed to?

We have a wood heater in the living room. And that’s the only heat we have. But over the past few years, I’ve developed an allergy to smoke. I have an air purifier that I use in my bedroom but it blows out cool air and in the winter, it gets really cold. So do they make any that have a heat option, or something?
